  6. You are loving.  Your words of love to me mean more than you may ever know.
  7. You are hard working.  Remember the days we drove across town to have you at your landscaping job before sunrise?  You worked all summer, every weekday in the hot sun.  You give every job your best.
  8. You are our rock.  Notice how many of us in the family call you for advice, support, or guidance.
  9. You have opinions.  You are comfortable knowing your mind and speaking your voice.
  10. You listen, too.
  11. You make me happy.
  12. You care about people.  I am amazed at the numbers of people who connect with you as friend.
  13. You are determined.
  14. You are direct.  Remember you used to say to me, “If you don’t really want to know, then don’t ask me.”
  15. You think about God.
  16. You are creative.
  17. You are brave.  You deal with danger in smart ways.
  18. You are brave enough to step away as needed.  You are not foolhardy.
  19. You are interesting.  You are my “what books to read” source.
  20. Your memory is incredible.
  21. You light up the stage.
  22. You light up my life.
  23. You care about family.
  24. You listen to your heart and follow your dreams.
  25. You inspire me to do more, know more, live more.
  26. You are fun.
  27. You are trustworthy.
  28. You are a crusader.  I have great respect for your ability to fight for what is right or wrong.
  29. You are an adventurer.  You find the joy in life…and make me want to find it, too.
  30. You are thirty…and have given me thirty years of delight as your mother.
  31. Bonus:  I love you...forever - though the book by that name has never been the same for me since as a little boy you pointed out to me how creepy it is for the mother to climb up a ladder and into her son's bedroom window.  I believe your little boy question was, "Isn't that against the law?!"
Happy Birthday to Jonathan, with love from me.
